Angela M Gallo

is Artistic Director of Sapphire Moon Dance Company.
Angela is currently Professor of Dance and Chair of the Department of Dance, Music and Theatre at Coker College in South Carolina. She directed the Coker College Repertory Dance Company from 2003-2009.  Angela’s choreography has been performed at: White Wave Dance Festival, the Dancenow Downtown Festival, Dance Theatre Workshop, Williamsburg Arts Nexus (WAX), Atrium Theatre and others in NYC, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland and in Canada at the Fringe Festival of Independent Dance Artists (fFIDA) and in South Carolina at Piccolo Spoleto, Sumter Opera House, Patriot Hall, CMFA Artspace and the Koger Center. She has performed in the works of Jose Limon, Doug Varone, Dan Wagoner and Christian Von Howard. She has danced with AmDAT: Dance Art Technology (NY), Eisenhower Dance Ensemble (MI), the Power Company Collaborative (SC) and worked on smaller projects with Ballet Preljocaj (France) and Anou Skan (France). She has also been a guest choreographer for Columbia Classical Ballet, Vibrations Dance Company, Power Company Collaborative, Converse College and others.
Angela has taught at Peridance, Joffrey Ballet and Joffrey Summer Program in Miami, New York Dance Center and the Movement Salon in NYC, the Hartford Ballet School, the University of Michigan and Southeastern School of Ballet. She has been a guest artist at the Atlanta Ballet, Spelman College, the Alabama Dance Festival, Charlotte Dance Festival, the University of South Carolina’s Summer Dance Conservatory and others schools and studios.
Angela’s dance for film work has been shown in the Optica Film Festival, Braga International Video Dance Festival and has been a finalist in the Dance Film Association’s Film Festival.

 Angela was the Southeast Regional Director for the American College Dance Association (ACDA) from 2010-2016. She has been the recipient of grants from the Cultural Council of Richland and Lexington Counties, South Arts, the Kyle Foundation, Black Creek Arts Council and was runner up for the SC Arts Commission’s Fellowship in Dance in 2007.
Angela holds a MFA from the University of Michigan and a BFA from Central Connecticut State University.
Angela is interested in the intersection of life and art- how can we bring cultural change and awareness through our artistic vision.

Eric Blair
has been a contributing choreographer of Sapphire MoonDance Company since the fall of 1999.
Eric has danced with La compania de danza tradicional de Alcala de Hendares, (Spain) the Toledo Ballet, the Cleveland Ballet, (
Ohio) Ballet Prelijocaj, (France) and the Eisenhower Dance Ensemble.(Michigan).  He has also been honored with both ensemble and solo work set by the renown choreographers: Donald McKayle, Carlos Orta, Paul Taylor, Twyla Tharp, and Merce Cunningham.
Throughout his career Eric has been privileged to perform in ninety-eight countries around the world.  Outside the stage of contemporary dance, he has found much success as both a performer and choreographer in the genre of musical theatre. International touring credits include: Jesus Christ Super Star, Evita, Cats, West Side Story, Miss Saigon and Pippin.
Eric received a B.F.A. in directing from Bowling Green State University, a M.F.A. in dance performance and choreography from the University of Michigan, and was certified in Spanish Education and Cultural Studies from the International University of Alcala de Henares.

Jessica Welch, began her ballet training under her grandmother, Nan Klinger, with the Cuyahoga Valley Youth Ballet in Cuyahoga falls, Ohio.  For nine years she danced principal roles for choreographers such as Michael Vernon, Tom Gold, Tom Evert, James Sewell, and Francis Patrelli. Currently, Welch is working on receiving a double major in Performance and Choreography Dance and Communications at Coker College. Welch has shown choreography at American College Dance Festival and was a summer scholarship student with Pro Danza Italia in 2008.

Heather Watkins, a native of Hartsville, South Carolina, received her BA from Coker College with a major in performance and choreography. She has been a member of  Charlotte, North Carolina’s “The Wanda Project” since 2007. She was also a member of Charlotte, North Carolina’s Kinetic Works Dance Company.  Her choreography was presented at the American College Dance Festival in 2007. She has performed "In Fieri" by Amy Marshall and served as Rehearsal Director for the piece when it was performed at ACDFA . Watkins has been a ballet instructor for one of Hartsville, South Carolina's local dance schools for three years. Heather is excited to be taking off to a new season this year with TWP as Associate Artistic Director and with Columbia, South Carolina’s “Sapphire Moon Dance Company”.

Dorian Baker Swaney an alumni of USC’s School of Dance, is pleased to be in her third season with Sapphire Moon Dance Company.  She has been a key performer and teacher with several companies throughout the state including USC's West African Dance and Drumming Ensemble and was honored to receive a scholarship to Broadway Dance Center in NYC.  Dorian has performed in Towne Theatre’s “All Night Strut”, "CATS" and danced Sugarplum in “The Nutcracker” at The Forum in Myrtle Beach. She is currently a Realtor® with ERA Wilder Realty and resides in Columbia with her husband Kevin.

Emily Arnold, Began her dance training at the Calvert-Brodie school of dance under the direction of Ann Brodie.  While at the College of Charleston, she performed with the Robert Ivey Ballet Company.  She lived in New York City for two years during which time she learned from a variety of teachers, and was able to explore many new styles of dance.   She is excited to continue her love of dance with the Sapphire Moon Dance Company.  She lives in Columbia with her husband Jeffrey.

Sarah Wilcox is a graduate of the University of the South where she studied dance under the direction of Phoebe Pearigen and also danced and choreographed for the student organization Perpetual Motion and for productions of Theatre Sewanee. For her early training, Sarah thanks the Alabama Dance Academy, directed by Pamela Merkel, where she also studied with Michael Vernon as a guest ballet teacher. Sarah has studied ballet and modern dance in New York City at the Paul Taylor and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater schools. Sarah was an apprentice with Arova Contemporary Ballet in Birmingham, Alabama in the fall of 2008. She is thrilled to currently be dancing with Sapphire Moon Dance Company, as well as The Wanda Project, directed by Wanda Ebright.
